The first step in happiness

Martin Luther King said “Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step”. And basically the same thing said Confucius, a long, long time ago.

They were both right.

You want to be happy? You want your each and every day to be filled with happiness? Then take the first step.

I don’t know what that step is, neither does anyone else. The only person who knows is YOU. And once YOU decide to do it, you would have enrolled on a journey which will take the rest of your life to complete, but which will be so fulfilling, so rich in passion and beauty, that you won’t, even for a second, regret it.

Take it, and be happy!

Body & Age

body & age

I believe that the human mind controls the body, which also means that the body is the perfect reflection of the mind.

Over the course of our lives we are exposed to stress constantly, and, if we succumb to that stress we age prematurely.

For instance, earlier in my life I was exposed daily to Continue reading

LOVE: simple and efficient

love - simple and efficient

Love is one of the most powerful things in the Universe, if not the greatest.

It moves everything, matter, energy.

It symbolizes our attachment to our origins, to everything around us.

Did you know that every atom in your body was once part of a star?

It is true. So we are only stardust, which relates us with every animate being or inanimate object in the Universe.

We are all brothers and sisters, in some form or another. We are matter, but what is matter, if not Continue reading

What exactly is “Respect” ?

respect

Everyone knows what respect feels like, but each of us has a different perspective on its meaning.

Some say that respect can be defined in the situation where someone is superior to you in some form or another, and you feel that what they do is above your powers, be it education, speech, possessions, aspect or skills.

Others say that respect is something to be earned and, until that moment comes, they feel compelled to disrespect or generally treat others with superiority.

Some say that respect is defined by Continue reading

FEAR: illusion or reality?

All of us are confronted each day with fear. It throws us off balance and puts us in a negative frame of mind, which we cannot easily overcome.

But what is fear? Is it an illusion or is it reality?

The answer is: both. It is an illusion because it is based on the supposition that something bad could happen to us in the near or distant future. We imagine all sorts of bad things, all kinds of scenarios, of which 99% never materialize.

But fear is also reality. Our reality. The feeling of fear is very real, even though our worst fears never come true.

My antidotes to fear: feeling love and feeling grateful. It’s that simple!

Neighbour’s grass is greener?

neighbour's grass

Seems that way, doesn’t it?

Why do my friends have a house, and I don’t? Why am I ill and they aren’t? Why do they have lots of money and I can’t even cover my debts? Why are they so happy and I’m not?

Why don’t I have a steady and good relationship when everybody around me seems to have one?

Let me see if I can shed some light on all those questions.

First of all, each of us has a different Continue reading

Everything starts with you

You are the most important person in the world. It’s time to put aside the opinions of others and give more power to your inner voice. As soon as you do that, all your life will change. Trust this!

The “What if?” syndrome

what if syndrome

The society today suffers from anxiety. Most of us do.

We are stressed, we are afraid. Afraid of many things. Of tomorrow, of other people, of responsibilities.

Afraid to get sick, afraid to drive, afraid to go outside, afraid of the future, afraid to get robbed, afraid to speak freely, afraid that you’re trapped, afraid of being alone, afraid for your children, afraid of risk, afraid to die. Afraid of being afraid. Continue reading

The 5 rules of Happiness

Our world would be a far better place if each and every one of us would follow these 5 rules.

This is great advice, and I am proud to say that I’ve got the last two in the bag, I’m half-through the first two and I’m working on the middle one. How about you?
